Chest Xray: Consolidation, Cavitation, Fibrosis and Calcification in pulmonary TB

Histo: Caseating granuloma, Caseous necrosis, epitheloid histiocyes, Langhan's giant cells, Lymphocytes and fibrocytes

Antibiotic:
SEPIR->> Streptomycin, Ethambutol,Pyrazinamide, Isoniazid,Rifampicin
Sume bactericidal except: Ethambutol->bacteriostatic



Case studies: 48yo chronic cough for 6 months, worsen last 2 months, blood stained sputum,fever-low grade, night sweats ,LOW,LOA

Investigation:
1.FBC
2.Mantoux test(>9mm indicate +ve, in TB 10-15mm)
3.Sputum for acid fast bacilli(AFB)
4.Sputum cytology
5.Chest radiograph: consolidation at apex, enlarged rt hilar lymph node
6.FNAC: Fine needle aspiration cytology of cervical l.n
7.Sputum for culture
